This week has been very awesome! The MTC is wonderful and the spirit is amazing as always. It doesn't feel like I've been here for 3 whole weeks, does it to you? I don't remember all of the questions because I don't have the letter you sent with me but i'll try. Yes, I got my medicine, thanks a bunch! I don't need it here nearly as much as I do at home so that's good! If you haven't sent the package yet, can you include the white holey shirt that's like an exercise shirt as well? If you already sent it it's no big deal. Oh I also got my driving record stuff. I miss my family wayy more than I miss any of my friends and the thing I miss most right now is a hug from Mom. The food is livable but is not treating my body well haha. I'm going to the weight room instead of the basketball court with an Elder Garcia. He's a pretty buff guy but one of the nicest people I know and is helping me get in shape haha. We went there this morning at 6:30 to work out. I don't remember any other questions but tell Kirk and Eric if they have questions for me, they should write me a real letter! I love real letters! Include it in the package if you haven't sent it yet! (:
Being able to go to the temple every Thursday is wonderful. It's like I'm refilling my tank and I'm ready to go for another week. I think one of my favorite parts of the MTC are the testimony meeting that we have every Tuesday night. We are usually all in tears by the end of it because the spirit is always super strong. Teaching investigators here is also an awesome experience! It's amazing to literally have words put into your mouth as you are teaching and watching the lesson go a totally different direction then you planned on. My companion is awesome. We work really well together. Sometimes he gets on my nerves but it's all good. He knows a lot about the gospel and teaches with the spirit. I really can't wait to go to Mexico! If I could, I would go today. I already feel a love for the people and want to invite them to come unto Christ. We're learning that inviting people to be baptized early is essential! We were told that we should mention it in the first lesson! You have to say it easy though like, "When you feel you have received an answer from God, through prayer, that what we said and that this church is true, will you follow the example of Christ and be baptized?" And the best part is, is that it's okay, maybe even better if they say no! Because then you ask why and you know what you need to focus on! Every investigator has needs. And it's our job to dig down, find those needs, and show them how the gospel relates to their needs. We aren't teachers, but merely guides. The holy ghost is the real teacher. And as long as the Spirit is there, it doesn't matter how bad your Spanish is, the investigator will feel that what you are saying is true.
It's so important to pray! I've realized this because I pray like a million times a day. Before each study session, when I wake up, with my companion when I wake up, and the same at night. I want to challenge you guys to say a family prayer each night before you go to bed, with whoever is there, then say a personal prayer before you go to bed. It makes soo much of a difference and I promise you will see blessings come from it! Also, in your personal prayers, make sure to repent for everything you did that day. It makes the next day so much better. I have also noticed this here at the MTC. Also, make sure to pray for the guidance of the Holy ghost before scripture study! You learn from the Holy Ghost so you need him to be there! Also, actually search for the Holy Ghost, don't just wait for him to come. If you seek him out, you are much more likely to feel his influences!
An awesome missionary scripture I found was in D&C 1:23. It says the week and simple will proclaim the fullness of the gospel to the ends of the world, and before kings and rulers. And that was barely a year after the church was organized!
I know with all my heart that this is where I need to be. I know the gospel is so true and that the gospel is so simple but necessary. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon.
Until next week family!
